The reason that we have political parties is because there are many different parties that focus on different things. Some worry more about nature, some worry more about the economical power and capitalism. They can differ a little so they are branched out to each represent what they would like.

For example... dictatorship, some people would praise it, while the idea silences and damages people and connections, therefore causing tension, as what's being praised and the outcome... aren't fair or the same.

The main difference between a democracy and anything other then a democracy is a democracy is run by the people the power is in the people while in a none democratic government the power is in the rulers. The word democracy means ruled by the people even though all they are doing is voting, but in a none democratic situation the leaders make all the decisions while the people sit back and do nothing. They have no choice in anything.
