Then when she left the room, I sat up and put the thermometer tip to the lamp. When I heard foot steps close to the door, I put it back in my mouth and it kinda hurt my tongue a little. My mom took it out and it read 101, so she stayed home with me. When she was watching tv in the living room and thought I was asleep, I studied for the test some more for tomorrow. I got to take the test and I passed. I was happy for passing but when I realized that my mom could not take a day off during my break to take me to the arcade I felt horrible. I wish I had never lied about being sick. It’s always best to tell the truth.
