The following shows the process a student used to determine the number of yards in 3,218 meters. (1 mile = 1,609 meters) (1 mile

= 1,760 yards) Step 1: 1,609 meters is being multiplied by conversion factor 1 mile over 3,218 meters equals 0.5 mile Step 2: 0.5 mile is being multiplied by conversion factor 1760 yards over 1 mile equals 880 yards Step 3: 880 yards

Wow... tough to read and understand

here is what I would do

3218/1609 =        this will tell you how many miles are in 3218 metres

next take your answer and then multiply it by 1760 to tell you how many yards are in 3218 metres

<span>The following shows the process a student used to determine the number of yards in 3,218 meters.

(1 mile = 1,609 meters) (1 mile = 1,760 yards)

Step 1: 1,609 meters is being multiplied by conversion factor 1 mile over 3,218 meters equals 0.5 mile

Step 2: 0.5 mile is being multiplied by conversion factor 1760 yards over 1 mile equals 880 yards

Step 3: 880 yards

Step 1 is incorrect as the ratio should be set up as

</span>3,218 meters is being multiplied by conversion factor 1 mile over 1,609 meters equals 2 miles

which follows to give an ans of 3,520 yards

The function h(t)=-4.92t^2+17.69t+575 is used to model an object being tossed from a tall building, where h(t) is the height in
nikklg [1K]
We have the following equation:
<span> h(t)=-4.92t^2+17.69t+575

</span> For the domain we have:
<span> </span>We match zero:
 -4.92t ^ 2 + 17.69t + 575 = 0
 We look for the roots:
 t1 = -9.16
 t2 = 12.76
 We are left with the positive root, so the domain is:
 [0, 12.76]

 For the range we have:
 We derive the function:
 h '(t) = - 9.84t + 17.69
 We equal zero and clear t:
 -9.84t + 17.69 = 0
 t = 17.69 / 9.84
 t = 1.80
 We evaluate the time in which it reaches the maximum height in the function:
 h (1.80) = - 4.92 * (1.80) ^ 2 + 17.69 * (1.80) +575
 h (1.80) = 590.90
 Therefore, the range is given by:
 [0, 590.9]

 Answer:
 the domain and range are:

domain: [0, 12.76] range: [0, 590.9]

Find the area of the polygon shown. Enter the number into the box.
lord [1]

Answer:

See Explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete, as the image of the polygon is not given.

I will answer this question with the attached image (similar to your question)

The attached polygon is a trapezoid of the following dimensions.

Height = 4ft

<u>Parallel sides</u>

Side\ 1 = 4ft

Side\ 2 = 4ft+1ft = 5ft

So, the area is:

Area = \frac{1}{2} * (Side\ 1 + Side\ 2) * Height

Area = \frac{1}{2} * (4ft + 5ft) * 4ft

Area = \frac{1}{2} * 9ft * 4ft

Area = 18ft^2
