I think that there was probably a rectangle that you didn't include in the question
area of rectangle=legnth times width
area=112 cm^2
legnth>width
assuming that since your grade level doesn't normally do decimals, I will only assume whole number legnths and widths
try and factor and find the pairs that make up 112
112=2 times 2 times 2 times 2 times 7
the pairs are
1&112
2&56
4&28
7&16
8&14

notice that the smaller pairs are on the left side
they are 1,2,4,7,8
these are the possible legnths
look at the answer choices and see which one is in the list 2 lines abouve this line (1,2,4,7,8)
the only match is 8

therefor the answer is B. 8cm

<span><span>To find the area of a rectangle, multiply the length by the width.
The formula is:</span><span>, where  is the area,  is the length,  is the width, and · means multiply.
Because 112 = 14 </span></span>· 8 , then, the width of the rectangle is 8 cm;
The answer is B.

What is the difference between intersecting and perpendicular lines? Can two lines exist that are not intersecting or parallel?
sertanlavr [38]
Intersecting lines are lines that meet at some point while perpendicular lines are intersecting lines that makes a right angle at the point of intersection.

Two line can either be intersecting or perpendicular. It is not possible to have two line that is neither intersecting or parallel.

A researcher surveyed 150 high school students and found that 68% played a musical insturment. What would be a reasonable range
maria [59]

Answer:

The reasonable range for the population mean is (61%, 75%).

Step-by-step explanation:

The interval estimate of a population parameter is an interval of values that consist of the values within which the true value of the parameter lies with a certain probability.

The mean of the sampling distribution of sample proportion is, \hat p.

One of the best interval estimate of population proportion is the 95% confidence interval for proportion,

CI=\hat p \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p(1-\hat p)}{n}}

Given:

n = 150

\hat p = 0.68

The critical value of <em>z</em> for 95% confidence level is:

z_{\alpha/2}=z_{0.05/2}=z_{0.025}=1.96

Compute the 95% confidence interval for proportion as follows:

CI=\hat p \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p(1-\hat p)}{n}}

     =0.68\pm1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.68(1-0.68)}{150}}\\\\=0.68\pm 0.0747\\\\=(0.6053, 0.7547)\\\\\approx (0.61, 0.75)

Thus, the reasonable range for the population mean is (61%, 75%).

Find the surface area of the cylinder
STatiana [176]
<h2><u>Solution</u>:-</h2>

• Surface area of a cylinder = 2πr(r + h) sq. units.

In the above diagram,

Radius (r) of the cylinder = 13 cm.

Height (h) of the cylinder = 39 cm.

<h3>• Taking value of π = 3.14</h3>

Hence, Surface area of the cylinder = 2 × 3.14 × 13(13 + 39)

Surface area of the cylinder = (81.64 × 52) cm²

Surface area of the cylinder = 4245.28 cm²

The surface area of the cylinder is <u>4</u><u>2</u><u>4</u><u>5</u><u>.</u><u>2</u><u>8</u><u> </u><u>cm²</u>. [Answer]

the distance a jet travels varies directly as the number of hours it flies. A jet traveled 2875 miles in 5 hours. What is the co
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

k = 575

Step-by-step explanation:

let d be distance and h time.

Given d varies directly as h then the equation relating them is

d = kh ← k is the constant of variation

To find k use the condition d = 2875, h = 5, then

2875 = 5k ( divide both sides by 5 )

k = 575
