<span>In D the period is outside the quotation mark. In B the question mark should be inside the quote. In C there is a period inside the quote, it should be a comma since the quote by itself is not a complete sentence :)

A personification, is figure of speech, in which inanimate objects, are given human attributes. We can see in the sentence, <em>"After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face"</em>, that the personification is, silence slapped her in the face. Because we can't physically feel and touch silence, there is no way that silence could do the same to us.
