Answer:

Notice key words and details

Explanation:

The central idea of a text refers to the most important thought that a text has about a topic; this idea tells the readers what the text is about. It is also usually defined as a short and general summary of the piece of writing, and in order to identify it, we first have to understand the content and we must pay attention to the topic of the text, the keywords, the details, and the ideas that are repeated.

Why is it helpful to set a purpose for reading?
makvit [3.9K]
From my my experience this usually differs depending on the type of book it is, but I think the best choice is either A, to help the reader understand new concepts, or C., It allows the reader to focus on key ideas and information during the reading. I'd pick C though, since it's more in depth and makes more sense.

B. doesn't make that much sense unless the book is an argumentative or a persuasive book.

D. only applies to personal narratives. Nobody can understand a writer's personal experiences and attitudes otherwise.

adelina 88 [10]
The correct option is B.

You can test if there are two independent clauses by separating the clauses and seeing if they can stand alone.

They hadn't planned the trip. They returned to the store the next day and bought more peanut brittle.

Since the the two clauses can stand alone, there are two independent clauses.

Two independent clauses constitute a compound sentence.
