Answer:

the Pearl Harbor attack looked like a success for Japan. Its bombers hit all eight U.S. battleships, sinking four and damaging four others, destroyed or damaged more than 300 aircraft and killed some 2,400 Americans at Pearl Harbor.

Japanese forces went on to capture a string of current and former Western colonial possessions by early 1942—including Burma (now Myanmar), British Malaya (Malaysia and Singapore), the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) and the Philippines—giving them access to these islands’ plentiful natural resources, including oil and rubber.

But the Pearl Harbor attack had failed in its objective to completely destroy the Pacific Fleet. The Japanese bombers missed oil tanks, ammunition sites and repair facilities, and not a single U.S. aircraft carrier was present during the attack. In June 1942, this failure came to haunt the Japanese, as U.S. forces scored a major victory in the Battle of Midway, decisively turning the tide of war in the Pacific.

Determine whether the following effects of the American Revolution were political or economic. Britain acknowledged the independ
Nataly [62]
  • <em>"Britain acknowledged the independence of the United States"</em> is a political effect. This meant, that the British Empire would not have any interference in the public policy of the territories of the newly formed country.
  • <em>"Countries that participated in war agreed to repay debts to one another"</em> is an economic effect. The monetary compensation for the effects of war would bring affect the budget of the newly formed country. This was an important issue, as the Continental Congress had issues collecting taxes from the states during the war and had to issue bonds. It would take time for the country to recover economically.
  • <em>"The war opened up discussion about racial equality"</em> is a political effect. This discussion was the first in a series of events that would lead up to the Civil War between the Union and the  Confederate States".

What was the main impact of the anti Federalist on the adoption of the us constitution
kondor19780726 [428]

The most signficant impact of the anti-federalists on the Constitution was the implementation of the Bill of Rights.

Anti-federalists were concerned that the new US Constitution gave too much power to the federal government. Anti-federalists argued that a strong central (aka federal) government would result in tyranny, just like it did when America was still part of the British empire. This is why the anti-federalists wanted a list of rights that all American citizens can possess. This list of rights would check the power of the federal government and prevent the government from restricting the rights of citizens.

Consider the legacy of Napoleon. Was he mostly a hero or mostly a tyrant? How should history view his reign? Write one to two pa
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

Napoleon was both a hero and a tyrant.

He was heroic when he brought law and order back to France, when the country was in chaos after the French Revolution. Then, he became a tyrant when he declared himself Emperor.

However, many of the principles that guided the French Revolution where included in his regime, and he developed a system of laws that is used in most of continental Europe to this day: the Napoelonic Code.

He got himself into many wars attempting at building a French-dominated Europe, and almost succeeded at it. He was defeated only because essentially of all Europe became his enemy, and joined forces against him.

As we can see, Napoleon is a complex and fascinating figure that cannot be classified as either a tyrant or a hero. He was both.
