Answer:

The author uses foreshadowing to create tension in the story by not letting the reader know what decision is Malik going to make.

Explanation:

During the story, great tension is created while Malik limped more and more during the swimming tournament.

He was the captain and the best swimmer in the team. Despite being very hurt, Malik told everyone that he was in perfect condition, but in his mind, there was fear and despair as the story progressed. That feeling is also transmitted to the reader, wondering how the tournament will end and what will happen to Malik's ankle.

Finally, Malik's team and their rival are tied and have to break in a relay race.

Malik wanted the medal of that last race very much and not being able to swim made him really sad, but he recognized that he really couldn't swim in that condition.

The tense moment comes to an end when he decides to let his substitute swim. Sean, who took a great advantage over the rival team, established a new record and took the medal home.

How to start a topic sentence about the the positive and negative effects information technoogy
Pani-rosa [81]
Start by introducing the idea, as if this person is somebody who doesn’t know much about it. Then give three examples each on how it’s been both positive and negative, then add a transitioning sentence to be able to start your next paragraph.

Answer:

i'd say it's okay to tell ghost stories to children as long as they aren't too graphic.  Ghost stories can be fun to tell around the campfire and stuff.
