Hi! So this question is just finding area in a more complex way. To solve for the area of the entire shape, you can break it down into 3 smaller shapes. The area of the triangle at the top would be equal to (1/2)(8)(15). The area of the small rectangle would be (15)(20) since you subtract the 10 yds from 30 yds to find that side. The area of the big rectangle would be (20)(30). After calculating all of these smaller shapes, you add them together, divide by 35 to find how many gallons you need, and make sure to round up because you can't buy half a gallon! (Your answer should come out to 28)

What is the slope of a line parallel to the line with equation 2x+4y=8
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

m = \frac{-1}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the slope of most lines, we should rearrange the equation into the slope-intercept form or y = mx + b.

So,

2x + 4y = 8

4y = -2x + 8

y=\frac{-2x +8}{4}

y=\frac{-2}{4}x+\frac{8}{4}

y=\frac{-1}{2}x+2

The slope is the coefficient of the x term, so

m = \frac{-1}{2}

Simplify the expression where possible. (r^-3 s^2 t)^4
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

\frac{(s^8t^4)}{r^{12}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that you tried to write:

(r^{-3} s^2 t)^4,

we can multiply the 4 on the outside of the parenthesis to all the terms. Multiplying, we get

(r^{-12}s^8t^4)

Because you don't want any negative powers in the top, we can move it down to get:

\frac{(s^8t^4)}{r^{12}}
