 I will set you an example, in the city you are living in today, you or your parents have seen changes throughout the years, right? that means that you have been in the SAME city many years to notice them, so that means that the more changes are happening, the more things stay the same referring to your family or traditions, time is just passing by but personally, nothing has changed or affected you... I'm only a Senior, not a teacher neither a processor, this is just another point of view, good luck with your essay!
