Throughout the chapter (Chapter 11) the author narrates his spiritual journey and how that has helped him live an elevated lifestyle. His main focus in on temperance and abstemiousness. He also argues that man at once lives a happy life when a channel of purity is open. In other words, the author acknowledges that purity is the most intimate relationship that a person can have with his maker. In short what the author is saying is that purity inspires, and impurity casts down.
