Answer: A. ENGAGED IN AN ARMS RACE

Explanation:

Now whilst I'm am not sure what chart you speak of, option A would be the most logical choice because the other choices are simply wrong or not entirely true.

By the year 1914 (year World War 1 began), the British and the Germans had been engaged in an arms race that was most evident in their Navies.

The British had been the dominant navial power for centuries and the Germans wanted to challenge them on that front and decided to build up a modern navy. The British realising this, also invested heavily in their navy, the result of which was an massive increase in battleships and other efficient vessels as well.

1. Mountains, stone buildings, stairs/roofing.

2. The geography is mountainous. Very curvy looking, must have been quite a struggle to climb.

3. Pros: You have natural barriers, less invaders.

Cons: You have to travel far just to trade or hunt.

4. They must have been very peaceful and calm people, seeing how they were so isolated from society. Though, Greeks lived in mountains as well and were very brutal. I can’t infer too much about their life but I know that they probably didn’t like being attacked and would rather be away from danger.

How are hills different from mountains
ArbitrLikvidat [17]
Hills are easier to climb than mountains. They are less steep and not as high. But, like a mountain, a hill will usually have an obvious summit, which is its highest point. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, there is no official difference between hills and mountains.

Why do humans build dams?
Dima020 [189]
Dams are important because:
They provide water for domestic, industry and irrigation purposes.

Dams often also provide hydroelectric power production and river navigation.
Domestic use includes everyday activities such as water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing, and lawn and garden watering.
Dams and their reservoirs provide recreation areas for fishing and boating.
They help people by reducing or preventing floods. During times of excess water flow, dams store water in the reservoir; then they release water during times of low flow.
