- - Star to simplify both sides of the equation.

18-4x=-2

- - Now you have top subtract 18 from both sides.

-4x+18-18=-2-18
- - Solve:
-4x=-20

- - And divide both sides by -4.

- - Solve:
\frac{-4x}{-4} = \frac{-20}{-4}

x=5

First u would take the 18 and - it on both sides
18 - 18 - 4x = -2 - 18
which would be
-4x = -20
then u would divide 4 on bothe sides
-4x/4 = -20/4
which would give u
- x = - 5
this is the answer for the negative x
for positive u would flip the answer
so
x = 5 which then = 4
x=5 is ur answer
hope this helps or u understand wat im sayin

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line shown on the graph?
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

D.4

Step-by-step explanation:

First, find the slope of the line given. To do so, plot two points that are located on the line, and use the slope equation to solve for the slope.

Let the two points be:

(x₁ , y₁) = (4 , 1)

(x₂ , y₂) = (0, 2)

The slope formula is: m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

Plug in the corresponding number to the corresponding variables.

m = (2 - 1)/(0 - 4)

m = 1/-4

m = -(1/4)

The slope of the line given is - 1/4. To find the line perpendicular to it, flip the fraction and the sign.

A line with the slope of (-1/4)'s perpendicular line would be (4).

D. 4 is your answer.
