Anettt [7]

Answer:

c. The starch stayed in the bag and the iodine leaked into the bag and the reacted with it, turning the solution black.

Explanation:

According to the given information, the solution inside the dialysis tubing has starch while water present outside has iodine. The color of the water present outside the dialysis tubing does not change which means that starch did not leak out of the bag and stayed in the bag itself. On the other hand, the starch solution present inside the bag turned black representing the fact that iodine entered the bag. The reaction of starch with iodine produces a blue-black color.

Which type of substance would best dissolve in a solvent that was made of nonpolar molecules.
Studentka2010 [4]
Lthough much of the explanation for why certain substances mix and form solutions and why others do not is beyond the scope of this class, we can get a glimpse at why solutions form by taking a look at the process by which ethanol, C2H5OH, dissolves in water. Ethanol is actually miscible in water, which means that the two liquids can be mixed in any proportion without any limit to their solubility. Much of what we now know about the tendency of particles to become more dispersed can be used to understand this kind of change as well.
Picture a layer of ethanol being carefully added to the top of some water (Figure below). Because the particles of a liquid are moving constantly, some of the ethanol particles at the boundary between the two liquids will immediately move into the water, and some of the water molecules will move into the ethanol. In this process, water-water and ethanol-ethanol attractions are broken and ethanol-water attractions are formed. Because both the ethanol and the water are molecular substances with O−H bonds, the attractions broken between water molecules and the attractions broken between ethanol molecules are hydrogen bonds. The attractions that form between the ethanol and water molecules are also hydrogen bonds (Figure below). There you go

Ecological succession can be defined as ae process of change in the species structure of an ecological community over time. There are two types of succession:

• Primary succession- begins in new habitats, uninfluenced by pre-existing communities

• Secondary succession –formed after a disruption of a pre-existing community.

Is it ethical to make changes to human DNA? What are the dangers of this?
vazorg [7]

Answer: It may be unethical to some people due to their beliefs. But as science evolves, genetic engineering has made it possible for us to modify many things, including human DNA. To me,changing human DNA is ethical. Changes in DNA bring many positive consequences, for example lower the risk of many deadly diseases(cancer/cystic fibrosis, etc). We can modify our features and create "a perfect human". But,there are some dangers that come with this power. For example,DNA modification could go wrong and create dangerous species
