The League of Nations was formed after WWI and its aim was to keep the peace and many countries joined but the US  did not.the weakness in the League of Nations was lack of authority to enforce the decisions reached. later after WWII, the UN was formed and they created the Security Council that addressed the weaknesses of the former League and lead in keeping international peace and security.
