What are the domain and range of the piecewise function below?

Mathematics

Answer:

Domain =R-{6}

Range =R-[-2,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given a graph with curve which has y intercept 0, and x intercept 0.

The graph is not continuous at x = 6

Also graph is not defined for x =6

For other values of x, the function is defined.

The domain is the set of values x can take

In the graph horizontal axis is x axis.

Hence from the graph we see that x can take values upto 6  excluding 6 and next 6 upto infinity.

Hence domain is x = R-{6}

For range, we consider the values of y as per graph.

WE find that y is not taking values in the interval [-2,0)

Hence Range =R-[-2,0)

There should be two different equations k+7=3 and k+7=-3. Then you should solve by subtracting 7 from both sides. Should get {-10,-4}

Written in standard form, when will a quadratic equation have a local maximum?
diamong [38]

Answer:

If the x^2 coefficient is positive, the function has a minimum. If it is negative, the function has a maximum. For example, if you have the function 2x^2+3x-5, the function has a minimum because the x^2 coefficient, 2, is positive.
