At the time of the tragic even, Hillary Clinton was the secretary of state. She at the time knew of the destabilization and threat to the ambassadors life. She had asked him whether he liked to be pulled out or if he needed more security, he said no. On the night of the attack there were various reason to why we tragically lost the ambassador, some may say it is on Hillary others may not. Now what caused the outrage was that she did not immediately tell the public about the attack but texted her daughter about it. Thats the gist of things.
