The correct answer is A) Closed Primary.

The type of primary that is described below is Closed Primary.

Before election time, the members of a party have to register in order to participate. At this moment, people express their party affiliation so other parties know that they belong to this specific party and avoid election problems with memberships. In the Closed Primary, only registered people can participate. In this type of election, party members declare their allegiance and request ballots for their own party. Independents are excluded.

4. What is the similarity between Dixiecrats

and the Civil Rights Act of 1957?
timofeeve [1]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

The similarity between Dixiecrats and the Civil Rights Act of 1957 was that the Dixicrats severely opposed the Civil Rights legislation proposed by President Dwight Eisenhower and Democrats in Congress weakened the act.

The Disxicrats from the South always opposed giving rights to African Americans and wanted to maintain the Jim Crow laws and black codes that started after teh Reconstruction period in the southern states.

The Civil Rights Act of 1957 included the creation of a Civil Rights Commission that had the power to investigate racial segregation practices. But as I said above, Democrats in Congress questioned and weakened the final act.

in the text the author discusses some of the ways the first amendment has been interpreted. in the context of our current americ
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

This question is really geared more towards your own interpretation, so there isn't necessarily going to be a right or wrong answer. I would say that today the first amendment protects when people are speaking out against policies and general injustices in the American society today, and for instance, on social media I have seen people say "f trump and f america." The first amendment is protecting them, so that nobody can hold that statement against them and press charges. If we lived in russia, the russian secret police would find you, and kill you for that. Personally, I believe that if someone wanted to burn an american flag on their front lawn, and curse america, they should not be protected by the first amendment. that should be a crime. However, the first amendment does protect them, so there is nothing anyone could do about that legally.
