The Gulf of Mexico is located far away from Canada - it's south of the United States, and East of Mexico- so it's not located along Canada's coast. This is the correct answer. The Beaufort Sea and the Hudson bay are actually parts of the Arctic Ocean and they are to the North of Canada.

Is there a connection between territorial expansion and human sacrifices?
patriot [66]

Territorial expansion remained popular with the U.S. public, as did the idea of spreading republican government. Many pro-slavery Southerners sought to expand southwards, allowing for more territory where slavery could continue to grow and expand.

Human Sacrifices is the act of killing one or more humans, usually as an offering to a deity, as part of a ritual. Human sacrifice has been practiced in various cultures throughout history.

I mean.

They're both in history and ''practiced''.

Though a connection, no, Territorial expansion went along with slavery. The act of killing another human being is not very humane nor a connection. Slavery deals with principles of property law are applied to them, allowing individuals to own, buy and sell other individuals, as a de jure form of property. A slave is unable to withdraw unilaterally from such an arrangement and works without remuneration. Human Sacrifices deal with people who have really no choice and are dead either way, victims were typically ritually killed in a manner that was supposed to please or appease gods, spirits or the deceased. Slavery doesn't deal with death. So, no.

How is a field experiment similar to a lab experiment?
mylen [45]

the internal validity is still manipulated by the researcher and the DV is measured.

The DV is a variable that is being measured/observed, whereas the IV is a variable that is altered to see how it impacts something else. The term "dependent" refers to the idea that the IV will have an impact on the DV.

What parallels exist between studies conducted in a lab and those conducted in the field?

Since experiments are the only way to reliably establish causality, laboratory and field experiments are comparable in that they are both helpful in determining cause and effect. Furthermore, because there is a high level of control over confounding variables, the two experiment designs have the potential to have high internal validity.
