Hi there!

~

cosec 20 -cot 40= 1/sin 20 - cos 40/sin 40

= (sin 40 -cos 40 sin20)/(sin 40 sin 20)

= 1/sin 40 ( 2 cos 20 - cos 40)

=1/sin20 ( 2 cos(60-40)-cos 40)

=1/sin40( 2 cos 60 cos 40 - 2 sin 60 -sin 40-cos 40)

Put the value of cos 60

= 1/sin 40 ( 2 sin 60 sin 40)

=root(3)

Hope this helped you!

Answer:

n=2

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello, please consider the following.

{5}^{n + 1} - {5}^{n} + {5}^{n - 1} = 105\\\\5^{n-1}(5^2-5+1)=5^{n-1}(25-5+1)=21*5^{n-1}=105\\\\5^{n-1}=\dfrac{105}{21}=5=5^1\\\\\text{It means that}\\\\n-1=1 n=2

Let me know if you need more details.

Thank you

The area of a rectangle is x 2 – 3x – 28. If the width is (x – 7), what is the length? (hint: it is a binomial)
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

(x + 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

By factoring the area expression we obtain  the length, that is

x² - 3x - 28

Consider the factors of the constant term (- 28) which sum to give the coefficient of the x- term (- 3)

The factors are - 7 and + 4 , since

- 7 × 4 = - 28 and - 7 + 4 = - 3 , then

x² - 3x - 28 = (x - 7)(x + 4)

with width (x - 7) and length (x + 4)
