When the young boy is hanged, a prisoner asks, “For God's sake, where is God?” Eliezer hears a voice answer, “Where He is? This

is where–-hanging here on this gallows.…” What does this statement mean? Is it a statement of despair? Anger? Or hope?

I believe it is a statement of anger. Because the prisoner feels that because a little boy was hung, humanity is heartless. And Eliezer out of anger basically says.." Where is he..? Where IS HE? Our goodness hangs there with the boy, and they no longer care of God."

Hope this helps

At what point does robinson feel his father may have been correct in his direction?
ElenaW [278]
Robinson Crusoe's father never wanted him to go to sea. He espoused the contents of staying at home and taking the "middle station" in life. When Crusoe is 19, he sails off to London without telling his father or mother. Now Crusoe had never been to see before. The beginning of the voyage was rough. The waves were high and the ship unsteady. Crusoe felt that he was "overtaken by the judgment of Heaven" for disobeying his father. He vowed to, if his life was spared, return home when he reached land. This vow, of course, was short lived.

Why is the title of the story of an hour seen as ironic?
densk [106]
The story tells of a woman reacting to her husband's death. She must consider many years of a relationship, and their time together is not really the story of an hour.
