Answer:

We see adding mixed number is easier by using the Commutative and Associative Properties of Addition.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to show  how the Commutative and Associative Properties of Addition can make adding mixed numbers easier.

For given numbers a , b and c , we have,

Commutative property of addition:

a+b=b+a

Associative property of addition,

a+(b+c)=(a+b)+c

Let us show it by using example,

Consider the addition of numbers having fractions,

\frac{2}{3}+(2+\frac{4}{3})

it is easy to find the sum by first combining fraction term and then adding 2 to it.

We first apply commutative property,

\frac{2}{3}+(2+\frac{4}{3})=\frac{2}{3}+(\frac{4}{3}+2)

Now we apply associative property,

\frac{2}{3}+(\frac{4}{3}+2)=(\frac{2}{3}+\frac{4}{3})+2

On solving , we get,

(\frac{2}{3}+\frac{4}{3})+2=\frac{2+4}{3}+2=\frac{6}{3}+2

Solving we get,

\frac{6}{3}+2=2+2=4

We see adding mixed number is easier by using the Commutative and Associative Properties of Addition.

Tina rides the bus to school, Theo bikes to school, and Tony walks to school. Their probabilities of being the first one to scho
Pie

Answer:

Tina is first

Tony is first

Theo is first

Step-by-step explanation:

Events with greater probability are more likely.

Let's put the probabilities in decimal form.

P(Tina is first) = 0.05

P(Theo is first) = %85 = 0.85

P(Tony is first) = 1/10 = 0.1

0.05 < 0.1 < 0.85

The events are listed below from least to most likely.

Tina is first, Tony is first, Theo is first

hope it helps

<u>insert the value of p dollars</u>

<h3>=> M = $0.10(50) + 25</h3>

<u>multiply 50 by 0.10</u>

<h3>=> M = $5 + 25</h3>
