This case was the first time that the Supreme Court ruled that they could essentially overrule the presidency or congress if they felt their decisions or bills were unconstitutional. This brought about another set of checks and balances to the American government.</span>
Knights were indeed lower than vassals and held less prestige in medieval society. It's not true though, that knights didn't have enough prestige in medieval society. Vassals swore to the king or the ruler of a region, whereas knights often swore to vassals, so they still had people under them, but they were not at the top.
Hamilton meant that judges should be free from polotics so that they can interpret the law and cases in their own perspective, without judgement and/or pressure from anyone else.
