To move a graph vertically and/or horizontally around the coordinate plane is called shifting or translation.

Shifting is simply moving the graph. Horizontal shift would be moving/shifting the graph to left or right. Vertical shift would be moving/shifting the graph to up or down.

There are another transformation methods that involve a more complex equation than shifting like mirroring or rotating.

8. The height of a ball t seconds after
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

B) 16

Step-by-step explanation:

We have h(t)=0, because the ball is on the ground.

So we have:

-8(2t-32)=0

2t-32=0

2t=32

t=16

It took 16 sec

Answer:

47

Step-by-step explanation:

In the picture attached, the Venn diagram is shown.

We can see in the picture that the intersection between C and M (symbolized by C∩M) is made by two regions, one with 22 employees and another one with 25 employees, then 22+25 = 47 satisfy C∩M

Answer:

1.) slope=2

2.) slope=-3

3.) slope=\frac{1}{4}

4.) slope=-\frac{4}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The unit rate is also known as slope. Slope is the change in the y values over the change in the x values:

(x_{1},y_{1})\\\\(x_{2},y_{2})\\\\\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}=slope

However, with certain graphs, the slope can be found in a simpler manner.

  • You start at one point and move across the y-axis, then move along the x-axis until you reach another point on the same line.
  • Make sure you move on the y-axis first, then the x-axis. Record the slope as spaces moved in each \frac{y}{x}
  • When you move up, the number will be positive (\frac{+y}{x}). If you move down, the number will be negative (\frac{-y}{x}).
  • If you move to the right, the number will be positive (\frac{y}{+x}). If you move to the left, the number will be negative (\frac{y}{-x}).
