Answer:

(B) 7.1 is the estimated square  root of 50

Step-by-step explanation:

A. √50 =  √2 √25

= 5√2.

Jaclyn did not take the square root of 2.

B. We estimate the square root of 2.

Trial and improvement:

It must lie between 1 and 2 so we try 1.5:

1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25

Its  < 1.5 so try 1.4

1.4 * 1.4 = 1.96.

So it is a little above 1.4.

Try 1.45:

1.45 * 1.45

     1.45

  *  1.45

       -------

            725

          5800

         14500

       2.1025

= 2.1025.

- this is above 2 so the answer is between 1.40 and 1.45 but closer to 1.4.

A good estimate is 1.42

So the square root of 50 is about 5*1.42 = 7.1

Select the postulate of equality or inequality that is illustrated.
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer: comparison postulate.

Explanation.

The given inequality might be either 3 + 2 > 5 or 2 + 2 < 5. The reasoning and the result is the same for effects of this question.

The comparison postulate states that one and only one of the following statements is true: a = b, a > b, a < b.

This is, a is either equal, or greater than or less than b, but not equal and greater, or equal and less, or greater and less. One and only one of them is true.

So, since  3 + 2 = 5, the comparison postulate assures that the inequality cannot both be true. This is 3 + 2 is equal to 5, and not greater or less than 5.

Alex

3m-2n=19

5m+7n=11

21m-14n=133

10m+14n=22

Now add equations

31m=155

m=5

Now let's find n

3×5-2n=19

-2n=4

n=-2
