Answer:

Option (C)

Explanation:

Tsunamis are defined as the series of waves that are produced in a large water body such as oceans and seas, due to the occurrence of an earthquake, underwater explosion as well as due to the eruption of a volcano.

The tsunami warning system is an instrument that is commonly used in order to detect the occurrence of a tsunami in advance and also to issue the warnings so that the loss of property and life can be reduced.

There is no tsunami warning system in the Indian ocean, as a result of which the people living in the near coastal areas were not warned. This is why the citizens were not prepared and thereby caused a lot of damages to the properties.

Thus, the correct answer is option (C).

Margaret [11]
Name two geographic obstacles and one political obstacle that stood in the way of the construction of the Panama Canal.

Answer: The two geographic obstacles that stood in the way of the construction of the Panama Canal was that Panama was very mountainous, and there were a lot of mud slides. One political obstacle was that Panama was part of Colombia. The united states had to negotiate with Colombia before Panama became independent. Engineers had to build a dam, design and build locks, and remove huge amounts of earth and rock in order to overcome the geographical obstacles.

I hope it helps, Regards.
