Answer:

Helps to retain more water and seeds.

Explanation:

  • The cone-bearing trees have evolved to needles as they allow to capture more water as they have thick wax coatings. Like the fir pine, spruce and birch all have needles. They can easily survive in ice and snow and are wind resistant that big and fat leaves. Also are hard for insects to eat.

The earth's interior heat and pressure drive mantle convection. This is the power that drives _____, the main force behind earth
Katen [24]

The correct answer is - plate tectonics.

The convection currents in the mantle, are having very high temperatures and very high pressures. Because of that, they managed to crack the crust, and thus divide the surface of the Earth in multiple peaces, or as we call them, tectonic plates. The very high pressure from bellow manages to push the tectonic plates in certain direction, and even though that movement is only a couple of cm per year, on the long term it has huge effects on everything on the planet.

Which best describes the location of the picnic area?
Agata [3.3K]

Answer:

The elevation changes from 635 to 600 at the picnic area.

Explanation:

In the picnic area which is close to point 4 on the map, the elevation changes from 635 to 600. We see that the site chosen for the picnic has a very gentle elevation and would be easily taken as a flat plain surrounded by hills.

The contours here are far apart and it implies a flat area with gentle slope. The only creek here is the equation creek. The area is below 635.
