The correct answer is A. Conjunction

Explanation:

In language, a conjunction is a word necessary to link different sentences, clauses or elements. In English language, conjunctions are classified into coordinating conjunctions such as but, or, yet, and, nor or so that link elements of the same importance, and subordinating conjunctions such as because, until, although or if used to link elements with different importance.

This means, in the sentence "Alberto hates tomatoes yet adores spaghetti" the word "yet" is a conjunction because this links the elements "hates tomatoes" and "adores spaghetti". Also, yet is one of the coordinating conjunction that implies the elements linked in the sentence have the same importance.

exis [7]

Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman may have differences in their poetry writing styles; points of view and structure. A good example of it, it’s how Dickenson tends to write longer pieces related to his own life experience, While Whitman contextualized his poetry to his historical context. Nevertheless and undoubtedly both authors share the same recurrence on talking about death in their poems. Each author relates death and how it's related to human beings. For instance, both wrote poems based on the civil war. While Dickenson analyzed death from a more religious point of view, seeing the transcendence of life and good behavior, Whitman relates it to a more human-centered view –e.g. the mother’s poem- where he captivates with seeing the beauty even in the most painful situations.  In brief, both apply this Transcendentalism and influence American literature on appreciating life and human beings.

Five hundred kilometres is a long distance.
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

Annie and her brothers ARE at school

Explanation:

The word that correctly completes the sentence is "are" and this is simply because of the rules of concord in English grammar.

The subject-verb agreement means that if the subject is in plural, then the verb must also be in plural.

The subject "Annie and her brothers" is in plural form, therefore the verb "are" must be in plural.
