<u>The answer is false.</u> No, the nobles did not fight with the gladiators. The nobles paid the gladiators large sums of money to attend their parties. Many of the gladiators became idols for the people and they won a lot of money and bought their freedom. It was very expensive to train them, the best fought a few times a year....

The Hohokam were farmers who grew corn, beans, squash and agave. They also grew cotton for textiles. The Hohokam built hundreds of miles of canals throughout the valley to irrigate their agricultural fields. Some of these same canals were later re-excavated and used by pioneer farmers in historic times.
