Answer:

"Things Fall apart" by Chinua Achebe is written as a response to Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" which is an attempt by the black Africans to reclaim their past as Achebe felt that Conrad being a colonizer could never understand the pain and sufferings they had born, so his version is manipulated. Thus, through this work he is reclaiming their(Africans) history and culture. Ikemefuna was a kind of foster son of Okonkwo and his death interrogates the cultural beliefs and customs of the people of Umuofia. This traumatic scene anticipates the downfall of the tragic hero in the novel and the disintegration of society as their superstitious beliefs like Oracle have led to the death of innocent creatures. This also raises questions about the authenticity of their belief system. This comes from the book “Things Fall Apart” written by Chinua Achebe. He writes about Okonkwo, who was a strong and popular man in his village and he resented the change that came in his village when the white missionaries arrived. Even his son Nwoye went to the side of the missionaries much to Okonkwo’s dismay. The correct answer is "Okonkwo thinks his daughter Ezinma should have been a boy because she is strong and violent". In the novel "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe, Okonkwo shows a clearly favoritism in his daughter Ezinma, which she uses to get advantage over his other children. It is inaccurate to state that Okonkwo would think that Ezinma should had been a boy, because he felts an overwhelming affection towards her.
