A woman at a grocery store wanted to purchase a 5 pound bag of apples but thought she would first weigh the bag on the store sca

le to verify the weight. The store scale read 4.5 lbs. The woman alerted the store manager of her finding. He weighed 100 bags of apples from his store and the average weight turned out to be 4.38 pounds with a SD of 0.5 pounds. After the manager contacted the packaging company, they conducted their own investigation. They weighed 100 bags of the 5 pound bags that they had just packaged at the plant and came up with an average weight of 4.95 lbs. with a SD of 0.5 pounds. Is the lower apple bag weight observed at the grocery store likely to be due to chance variation?

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

here we are interested to test the mean weight of a bag is less than 5 pound.

So null hypothesis isH_0:\mu =5

and alternative hypothesis is H_1:\mu

Let's do one sample z test.

The given information Sample size = n =100

sample mean\overline{X}=4.38,

standard deviation \sigma =0.5

Test statistic:Z=\frac{\overline{X}-\mu }{\frac{\sigma }{\sqrt{n}}}

Z=\frac{4.38-5}{\frac{0.5}{\sqrt{100}}}=-12.4

This is a left tailed test, hence the p value for the left tailed test and Z score= -12.4 is \approx 0

Hence We can reject the null hypothesis to say that we have evidence that apple bag weight at the grocery store is less than 5 pounds and it is not a chance variation

a parallelogram has side lenghts 20 cm and 25 cm. the diagonal opposite the obtuse angle measures 38 cm. what is the measure of
Nady [450]

Step-by-step explanation:

1. draw the parallelogram with side 20cm and 25cm respectively and also the diagonal as well.

2.Clearly it forms a triangle in the parallelogram with three known lengths of side.

3.Using the cosine rule : c^2=b^2+c^2 -2bc cos c to find the obtuse angle.

Find the circumference.<br> Use 3.14 for n.<br> r = 6 ft<br> C = [?] ft<br> C=Td
Y_Kistochka [10]

In the circumference formula given d is the diameter which is 2 times r ( r is the radius)

R is given as 6 feet, diameter = 2 x 6 = 12 feet.

Circumference = 12 feet x 3.14 = 37.68 feet

Help with 58 show work plz
xz_007 [3.2K]
I'm not going to say the answer because i want you to figure it out.
But here.

For Part A: There are 665 pounds of apples, 35 go in each box. You have to find out how many boxes there will be. How will you break apart 665 by 35? (Division) After that, you got your answer!

Part B: Just write down your answer from Part A.

How do I simplify by combining these numbers -3x - 5y + 2x + 10y
Wewaii [24]
They are basically like groups. Take -3x+2x , Just do -3 +2 = -1 and then just add the x. So -1x. Next you have -5y+10y . Just do -5 + 10 = 5 and remember to add the x on so your final answer should be -1x + 5y
