What historical time period, most influenced the Declaration?
dedylja [7]

Answer: 17th Century

Explanation: The Enlightenment has impacted the declaration.

John Locke said life, liberty, and property.Locke believed that the most basic human law of nature is the preservation of mankind. To serve that purpose, he reasoned, individuals have both a right and a duty to preserve their own lives. Of Course, Jefferson took life, liberty and replaced property with the pursuit of happiness.

Rousseau believed in Social Contract which heavily influenced the Declaration of Independence. He claimed that people would give up unlimited freedom for the security provided by a government, but also that people of the state hold ultimate right to power.
