More water is siphoned off the Jordan River for agriculture.

Explanation:

The Dead Sea is actually a lake that has a saline water. In fact, it is the water of body that has the highest salinity in the world. It is located in a depression, the deepest in the world, and also in an arid area. This lake is getting water from the Jordan River, and it doesn't have an outlet, but despite that, the lake is actually gradually decreasing lately.

There are two main reasons as two why the decrease of the water levels occurs. The main reason is that more and more water from the Jordan River is used by the population in the region, be it for drinking or irrigation, which in turn means that the amount of water that enters the Dead Sea is decreased. That combined with the second reason, which is the arid climate, contributes to higher evaporation of the water than water that enters the lake, thus the water levels gradually go down.

More water is being siphoned off the Jordan River for agriculture.

Explanation:

The level of the Dead Sea's water keep decreasing round the year because more water is being siphoned off the Jordan River for agricultural needs.

The dead sea is the saltiest water on earth making its very dense.

It is an inland sea with no connection to an ocean. In fact, it is better described as a lake.

The feeder river the provides water into the Dead sea is River  Jordan.

Most people living around this river use it for irrigation of farms. This eventually reduces discharge into the Dead sea.

What is the ratio of water than falls on land as compared to the amount that falls onto the oceans?
Lapatulllka [165]
Ocean waters get around 77% of the precipitation, while the land gets about 23% of the precipitation. This is due to the fact that the oceans have 96.5% of the water in the world, so most of the evaporation is above them, but that also leads to precipitation over the land, so the percentage of water compared to the percentage of precipitation is not the same.
