Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

King Leopold II treated the Congo as his personal property and exploited the country for slave labor, rubber, and ivory. The Belgian Congo was established in 1908 after the international community pressured the Belgian government to annex the country and take it out of the king's hands. Conditions in Belgian Congo improved as the Belgian government supported education and established trade. Nevertheless, the people of the Congo increased their demands for independence.

How did government policies prove bad for the economy of the Soviet Union?
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

Answered below

Explanation:

The Soviet Union was very powerful for most of the 20th century. From political to military and economic strength. But the economy of the Soviet Union would eventually collapse, due to certain reforms to decentralise the economy.

The Soviet Union's economy was controlled totally by the government. The communist party coordinated the planning of production, distribution and institution of regulations and economic targets. The economy had a rapid growth at first but as the economy became increasingly complex, the average GNP growth started slowing.

Reforms like the sovnarkhoz, implemented in the late 1950s attempted to decentralise economic control. Restructuring reforms called the porestroika were also implemented but these could not compete at the global stage and therefore failed.

Who is next in line if the Arizona governor cannot finish his or her term of office?
shusha [124]

Answer:

Who replaces the governor if he dies?

In most cases, the lieutenant governor is the highest officer of state after the governor, standing in for that officer when they are absent from the state or temporarily incapacitated. In the event a governor dies, resigns or is removed from office, the lieutenant governor typically becomes governor. but thats not an option so

Overall, the constitutional rules for who comes second in line for the governor's seat are much more complex than that of first in line. Common second-in-lines include:

The President of the Senate (Pro Tempore)

The Speaker of the House

The Secretary of State
