Answer:

c). “action, and action now.”

Explanation:

Franklin Roosevelt's First Inaugural Address was delivered in 1933. In it, Roosevelt talks about the situation of the nation, the fact that he was elected to lead it, and the actions he believes should take priority in his government. He also tells us that he believes an ethical and philosophical change is not enough, but that a change in action is needed to. He claims that the nation demands it in the following line:

<em>"Restoration calls, however, not for changes in ethics alone. This Nation asks for action, and action now."</em>

Why did Mao Zedong begin the Cultural Revolution? Select all that apply.
azamat

Answer:

The correct answer is: He knew the Great Leap forward had been a success.

Explanation:

In 1966, the Chinese Communist representative Mao Zedong started with the Cultural Revolution. His main goal was to establish his power in the Chinese government. This Revolution marked his return to a position after a period of recovery of the Great Leap Forward. The Cultural Revolution damaged China's economy, while millions of people died or were persecuted in massacres across the country.

Mao officially declared the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1969, but its active phase lasted until the death of Commander Lin Biao in 1971. In 1981, the Party announced that the Cultural Revolution was responsible for the greatest setbacks and hardest losses suffered by the Party, country, and population since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

how does victor frankenstein's story parallel the story of prometheus and pandora-apex english 12 sem 2 (1.3-5)
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

The novel Frankenstein is greatly influenced by the tale of Prometheus.

Explanation:

The full name of the book is <em>Frankenstein</em> or the <em>Modern Prometheus. </em>In Greek mythology, Prometheus is credited with the creation of humanity from clay, and stealing the God´s fire to give to humanity knowledge and enlightenment. He then was eternally condemned by Zeus, being bounded to a rock and having an eagle come every day to eat his liver, which would grow back overnight. In later western cultures, Prometheus became a figure that represented human striving, the quest for scientific knowledge, and the risk of unintended consequences. Victor Frankenstein, like Prometheus, wants to be a creator and hold the power of the Gods, by assembling a body from various corpses and trying to give it life, using the power of electricity (representation of Zeus). He then is tortured by his own creation for the rest of his days, like Prometheus. The gift of creating life comes along with the curse of the monster, whom Victor could not bare, and then goes on a killing spree for not being accepted. The killing spree of Frankenstein´s monster would be a representation of Pandora, who was sent by Zeus to release all the evils of humanity after Prometheus gifted them with the God´s fire.
