N' ( 2, 1 )

When rotating 270 clockwise about the origin you switch the x and y coordinate and use the opposite sign of the original y coordinate.

(x, y) becomes (-y, x)

Prove 2√(x) + 1/√(x + 1) <= 2√(x+1) for all x in [0,inf)
EleoNora [17]
Start by multiplying each side of the inequality by \sqrt{x + 1} and simplifying:

2 \sqrt x + \frac{1}{\sqrt{x+1}}  \leq  2 \sqrt{x + 1}
(2 \sqrt x + \frac{1}{\sqrt{x+1}})(\sqrt{x + 1}) \leq (2 \sqrt{x + 1})(\sqrt{x + 1})
2 \sqrt{x(x + 1)} + 1 \leq 2(x + 1)
2 \sqrt{x^2 + x} + 1 \leq 2x + 2
2 \sqrt{x^2 + x} \leq 2x + 1
\sqrt{x^2 + x} \leq x + \frac{1}{2}

From here, we can square both sides to get

x^2 + x \leq (x + \frac{1}{2})^2
x^2 + x \leq x^2 + x + \frac{1}{4}
0  \leq \frac{1}{4}, which is always true.

I need to find what b is with all steps <br> Thank you
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

b ≈ 148.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the tangent ratio in the right triangle

tan68° = \frac{opposite}{adjacent} = \frac{b}{60}

Multiply both sides by 60 to clear the fraction

60 × tan68° = b, thus

b ≈ 148.5 ( to 1 dec. place )
