How does Paine think the practice of choosing a monarch was originally different from today
igomit [66]

Paine states that mankind was originally at a state of equality and the subsequent appearance of all distinctions between human beings have to been brought about by an unnatural circumstance. This distinction between people is "not one of heaven".

Pain believes that men have committed a serious mistake when deciding to have someone other than God to govern them. In the past, a person worthy of certain honors would be named as ruler. From them on, his descendants were expected to inherit the ruler's power. This is a practice that has been going on until today. However, Paine considers this to be a mistaken practice, as no person deserves any sort of honors that belonged to his descendants.

PLS HELP!! And an explanation would be great :)
eduard

Answer: ( A ) It became a world power.

Explanation:

The global equilibrium, which had allowed the United States to grow and prosper in virtual isolation since 1815 was gone forever as the result of a short but shattering war. In 1898, U.S. domestic support for the independence of Cuba enmeshed the United States in a struggle with Spain over the fate of the island nation. The decision to aid the Cuban resistance was a major departure from the traditional American practice of liberal nationalism, and the results of that decision had far-reaching consequences. The 1898 Treaty of Paris ending the war gave Cuba its independence and also ceded important Spanish possessions to the United States—notably Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and the small island of Guam. The United States was suddenly a colonial power with overseas dependencies.

This assumption of colonial responsibilities reflected not only the temporary enthusiasms of 1898 but also marked a profound change in the diplomatic posture of the United States. The foreign policies of the early 19th century had less relevance at the dawn of the 20th century because the nation had changed. The United States had almost all the attributes of a great power—it stood ahead or nearly ahead of almost all other countries in terms of population, geographic size and location on two oceans, economic resources, and military potential.

Why did king Ashoka preach dhamma? Give 3 points
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

Because he saw in Dharmma a way to cause an organization of social norms.

Explanation:

Dharmma was not a religion, but it used Buddhist concepts and a mixture of different religions present in the kingdom to establish a series of social norms and behavior that should be followed by the population. With the creation of Dharma, Ashoka managed to ensure that these norms were followed by everyone in his reign, regardless of the beliefs they followed, even managing to make possible visitors, or foreigners, succeed in following them without hurting their religious concepts.
