The imperative mode occurs when the verb indicates an order, a recommendation, a suggestion. The imperative can be affirmative or negative.

For example:

Hey, stop! It is an affirmative imperative.

Quick, do not stop! It is a negative imperative.

In item (A), "Your assignment must be submitted on time" we have a case of affirmative imperative, someone imposes an order regarding one task for another.

It is easier to identify through the verbs: must and should are commonly used as imperative.
