I’d you work hours a day for 20 dollars per hour, you’d make 160 dollars a day.
5,026 dollars divided by 160 = 31.41
You can’t work 31.41 days, so you’d need to work 32 full days overtime to pay for the vacation

HELP ON THIS PROBLEM!!<br><br> Solve the following 0deg&lt; x&lt; 360deg: cos x= cos 2x
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

x=0^\circ,120^\circ,240^\circ,360^\circ

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Use identities to set the equation up as a quadratic</u>

\cos x=\cos 2x;\:0^\circ \leq x \leq 360^\circ\\\\\cos x=2\cos^2 x-1\\\\0=2\cos^2 x-\cos x-1

<u>Make the substitution u=cos(x) and solve the quadratic</u>

<u />0=2u^2-u-1\\\\0=(2u+1)(u-1)

\displaystyle 0=2u+1\\\\0=2\cos x+1\\\\-1=2\cos x\\\\-\frac{1}{2}=\cos x\\\\120^\circ,240^\circ=x

0=u-1\\\\0=\cos x-1\\\\1=\cos x\\\\0^\circ,360^\circ=x

Hence, x=0^\circ,120^\circ,240^\circ,360^\circ

A destroyer on patrol spots an aircraft at an altitude of 10,000 ft and an angle of elevation of 20⁰. How far is the aircraft fr
Reika [66]

sin= \frac{opp}{hyp} \\\\sin (20) = \frac{10000}{hyp}\\\\hyp= \frac{10000}{sin(20)} \\\\hyp= 29238 ft

The aircraft is 29238 ft from the ship

//

Note: this is based on my assumption that we are looking for the hypotenuse.

If we are looking for the adjacent side, then the answer would be 27475 ft.

Is the following relation linear, quadratic, or cubic? If it is linear, find the equation. Explain your reasoning and include al
Sergio [31]

The given relation is linear. Equation of the linear function; (Y-y1)/(x-x1)= m Or Y= 1/2x +2.

<h3>What is a linear equation?</h3>

A linear equation is an equation that has the variable of the highest power of 1.

The standard form of a linear equation is of the form Ax + B = 0.

Where m is the slope and c is the y intercept.

WE have given R = {(x, y) : (2,3), (4,4), (6,5), (8,6), ...}

Let's use these two points to determine both the slope and the equation;

(2, 3), (4,4)

Slope= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Slope= (4-3)/(4-2)

Slope= 1/2

Then Equation of the linear function;

(Y-y1)/(x-x1)= m

(Y-3)/(x-2)= 1/2

2(y-3) = x-2

2y -6 = x-2

2y= x-2+6

2y= x+4

Y= 1/2x +2

Hence, the given relation is linear. Equation of the linear function; (Y-y1)/(x-x1)= m Or Y= 1/2x +2.
