Mathematics

Solve:
x =  - 2y - 3 \\ 4y - x = 9
Step1:
Get the variable (x or y) alone or find the equation that has the variable already alone, which would be the first equation.
x =  - 2y - 3
Step 2:
Replaced "x" in the second equation with the equation in the first equation. This is used to find "y"
4y - ( - 2y - 3) = 9
Step 3:
Solve and Simplify
4y + 2y + 3 = 9
6y + 3 = 9
6y + 3 - 3 = 9 - 3
6y = 6
\frac{6y}{6}  =  \frac{6}{6}
y = 1
Step 4:
Use one of the original equation:
x =  - 2y - 3  \\ 4y - x = 9

Replace "y" from any of the problem (I recommended the first equation) to find "x"
x =  - 2(1) - 3
x =  - 2 - 3
x =  - 5
The answer is: (-5, 1)

To check your answer:
x =  - 2y - 3

(- 5)=  - 2(1) - 3
( - 5) =   - 2 - 3
( - 5) =  - 5
You will find the same answer if u use the other way. But, the way I show you is much easier and faster to find the answer.

I hope this helped u

What is the longest line segment that can be drawn in a right rectangular prism that is 14cm long, 13cm wide, and 11cm tall?
vlabodo [156]

The longest line segment that can be drawn in a right rectangular prism that is 14cm long, 13cm wide and 11cm tall is 19.1cm.

<h3>What is a right rectangular prism?</h3>

A right rectangular prism is a three dimensional solid shape formed by 6 rectangles.

it is also called the cuboid.

Analysis:

The diagonal of the face of the prism with dimensions 14cm long and 13cm wide is the longest line segment that can be drawn.

Since rectangles have 90° on each vertex, we can use Pythagoras theorem to calculate for the length of the diagonal.

(diagonal)^{2} = (length)^{2} + (width)^{2}

(diagonal)^{2} = (14)^{2} + (13)^{2}

                 = 196 + 169 = 365

 (diagonal)^{2} = 365

diagonal = \sqrt{365} = 19.1cm

In conclusion, the length of the longest diameter is 19.1cm

X(5)+2=244<br>help pls<br>(^_^)
arsen [322]

Simplify both sides of the equation

  • 5x+2=244

Subtract 2 from both sides

  • 5x+2−2=244−2
  • 5x=242

Divide both sides by 5

\frac{5x}{5}  =  \frac{242}{5}

  • Answer

\: x =  \dfrac{242}{5}

OR

Statistics question about random probability Cheese pastureized or Raw MilkA cheese can be classified as either raw-milk or past
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

(a) Two cheeses are chosen at random. the probability that both cheeses are pasteurized is Pr(PP) = 0.82 x 0.82 = 0.6724 to 4 decimal places)

(b) Four cheeses are chosen at random. The probability that all four cheeses are pasteurized is Pr(PPPP) = 0.82 x 0.82 x 0.82 x 0.82 = 0.4521 to 4 decimal places

(c) What is the probability that at least one of four randomly selected cheeses is raw-milk is Pr(RPPP) Or Pr(RRPP) Or Pr(RRRP) Or Pr(RRRR)

= 0.1269 to 4 decimal places

It would not be unusual that at least one of four randomly selected cheeses is raw-milk, because the probability have a value between 0 and 1

Step-by-step explanation:

If is given that 80% of the cheese is classified as pasteurized.

It then implies that 20% of the cheese is classified as Raw-milk

Probability of pasteurized cheese is 0.82(Denoted by Pr(P))

Probability of raw-milk cheese is 0.18(Denoted as Pr(R))

(a) Two cheeses are chosen at random. the probability that both cheeses are pasteurized is Pr(PP) = 0.82 x 0.82 = 0.6724 to 4 decimal places)

(b) Four cheeses are chosen at random. The probability that all four cheeses are pasteurized is Pr(PPPP) = 0.82 x 0.82 x 0.82 x 0.82 = 0.4521 to 4 decimal places

(c) What is the probability that at least one of four randomly selected cheeses is raw-milk is Pr(RPPP) + Pr(RRPP) + Pr(RRRP) + Pr(RRRR)

(0.18 x 0.82 x 0.82 x 0.82) + (0.18 x 0.18 x 0.82 x 0.82) + (0.18 x 0.18 x 0.18 x 0.82) + (0.18 x 0.18 x 0.18 x 0.18) = 0.1269 to 4 decimal places
