Answer: Independent clause + dependent clause.

Explanation:  You make a complex sentence by adding an incomplete thought to a complete thought. So, here is an example:  On my way home ...(That is an incomplete sentence, you need to add a coma so you can make a complete sentence which can turn into a complex sentence) So, this how you would end it: On my way home, I saw a garden with delicious vegetables.

A complex sentence can be created by adding an incomplete thought to a complete thought. It can also be created by taking two simple sentences and making one into a big sentence, which would be half a paragraph. I honestly, don't always write correctly so I use Grammerly. My whole class uses it. This sounds as if I'm advertising, but I'm not.
