Answer:

Explanation:

Two personifications in the poem are;

The dawn's awake and;

Music is singing.

Explanation:

What Personification is

Personification is a figure of speech that gives inanimate or nonliving things some attributes of humans. Personification makes them feel or act as living things in that context. The water sings is an example of personification. It is only used by the writer to express his or her feelings to the readers.

Personifications from the Passage

The dawn's awake

The dawn's awake takes a human action"awake", and assigns it to dawn which is an inanimate object. The writer was only trying to communicate his feelings dawn can never wake.

Music is Singing

Music cannot sing like humans, here the writer gives the inanimate concept music the ability to sing. This, of course, cannot be performed by music.

Personification gives life to an object in literary writings.

The cold seeped into my bones, chilling my core, and slowing my thoughts to a snails' space. What does it mean my slowing my tho
Anastaziya [24]
Hi!

Since snails go really slowly, and it says "SLOWING my thoughts...", we can interpret that he/she isn't thinking of things very fast. Our brains can think things so fast, normally we don't even have to think about it. (Wow, how many times can I say 'think' in one sentence?) But he/she is having that process slowed, probably because he/she can only focus on how cold he/she is.

Hope this helps!

Sort each group of words according to whether it is a clause or Not clauses
Svetach [21]

Answer:

Clause

Susan waited patiently

I swim

because she visited

Not Clause.

those zebras

bought a new skateboard

the girl in the relay race

Explanation:

A clause can be defined as a group of words that contains a subject and a verb or verb phrase. A clause contains a subject and a predicate and is part of a longer sentence and it can be the sentence itself.

How do we identify a clause?

Though, clauses come in four types: main, subordinate, relative, and noun.

They all have something in common. Every clause no matter its type and form has at least a subject and a verb.

In each of the group of words above, the presence of a subject and a verb makes it a clause else, it is not.

- those zebras (not a clause)

Why? Because it has no verb

- Susan waited patiently (a clause).

Why? It has a subject (Susan) and a verb (waited)

- bought a new skateboard (not a clause)

Why? Because it has no subject

- the girl in the relay race (not a clause)

Why? Because it has no verb

I swim (a clause).

Why? It has a subject (I) and a verb (swim)

because she visited (a clause).

Why? It has a subject (she) and a verb (visited)

When I (come)____ , she will be cleaning the door.
andriy [413]
I’m not sure what the question is. “Come” would be the correct present tense for the sentence, but if you need a different word with the same meaning to replace it with, then you can use “arrive” instead.

I hope this helped, if not, then you can reply specifying what the question is.
