Zheng He was a military, sailor and Muslim Chinese explorer especially famous for his seven naval expeditions, carried out between 1405 and 1433.
He was the most important navigator in the history of China. He sailed and explored the Indian Ocean seven times with a fleet of more than 300 ships laden with gold, silver and other treasures, and a total of 27,800 men.
