Tennessee Valley authority came into being just to improve our quality of life during the infamous great depression around the year 1933. During the WW II they contributed resources to build bombs and air-planes and later provided assistance in matters of the national security.

They used to be the largest supplier of electricity in the 1950s. they also built nuclear plants to provide and supply energy as the demand increased drastically.
