Help me out. This is a ‘percent applications’ question: “In a survey, 35% of students said they would prefer live bands at school dances. That response was given by 63 students. How many students were surveyed?”

63=35%
X=100%

Set up the equation and cross multiply
63/x =35/100

Multiply 63 by 100 (6,300) and divide it by 35 which will give you 180
