and 18 divided by 4 is 4.5 so it takes 5 cars.

i.e. total number of people are 6\times3=18

18 people = \frac{18}{4} car      

18 people = 4.5 car                

Which means 18 people need 5 cars.

Therefore, 5 cars they need.
