Kristallnacht was an important event as it is considered the beginning of the holocaust. Throughout Germany and Austria, a pogrom was initiated by the Nazis. Synagogues were destroyed and Jewish shops were looted and ransacked. 91 Jews were killed and thousands of Jewish men were taken to concentration camps. This event became known as the November Pogrom or Kristallnacht.

Well one push factor would be they wanted to escape religious and political prosecution. Another is the Potato Famine. This was when their potatoes were contaminated and many died from starvation and disease.

Athens was a direct democracy which means that all eligible citizens voted directly on bills and legislation. Citizens had input in many of the decisions that were made. On the other hand, the US is a representative democracy. This means that voters elect politicians who cast votes on the issues at hand on their behalf.
