Leann is correct because in a division problem you move the decimal until there is no decimal in the dividend and once you move the decimal in these problems there won't be anymore decimals in the problem. hope I helped

Leann is incorrect. All the result for those divisions are the same, which is 3.

<h3>Further Explanation</h3>

<u>Given:</u>

Leann says  18:6 = 3

                    1.8:0.6 = 0.3

                    0.18: 0.06 = 0.03

<u>Question:</u>

Explain how to solve these division problem!

We are going to solve this divide a decimal-by-a decimal problem. When a decimal dividing by a decimal, first, we need to change the decimal numbers into a whole number by multiplying with 10, 100 or 1000 to shifting the decimal place.

Let's solve the problem above!

1.) First division

18:6 = 3 we can write this into a fraction \frac{18}{6}

In this case, this number is already a whole number so we just dividing the number straightly:

\boxed {\frac{18}{6} =  3 }

2.) Second division

1.8 : 0.6 We can change them into a fraction as follow \boxed {= \frac{1.8}{0.6} }

Let's change those decimal into a whole number by multiply the denominator and numerator with 10 to shifting the decimal place.

\boxed {= \frac{1.8 \times10}{0.6 \times10} = \frac{18}{6} = 3}

By multiply with\boxed {\frac{10}{10} = 1 } it's not change the result, only to make the division process easier.

3) Third division

0.18 : 0.06 write this in a fraction. To shifting the decimal point, we need to multiply both the numerator and denominator with 100, so it makes a whole number.

\boxed {\frac{0.18}{0.06} = \frac{0.18 \times 100}{0.06 \times100} = \frac{18}{6} = 3 }

From the division process above, we get the result for all the three divisions is 3

18:6 = 3

1.8:0.6 = 3

0.18: 0.06 = 3
