To begin we'll establish that there were three Punic wars between Rome and Carthage. The first one was because Rome wanted control of Magna Graecia. The second resulted in a Roman victory but not before Hannibal conquered Roman territory. When the third war took place Rome had more power than Carthage, but it was still a threat to Rome. Rome won the final war as well.

lawyer [7]

Answer:

promise higher pay as an incentive to work harder.

Explanation:

What is wrong with the other choices?

increase their profits in a competitive environment.

You can only increase profits by increasing the price of a good - so that the price exceeds the cost of making the product. Since paying low wages will not affect the profit, this answer choice is incorrect.

avoid overcrowding and accidents on the factory floor.

Lowering wages is unrelated to overcrowding and accidents; therefore this answer choice is incorrect.

hire fewer workers to perform a variety of tasks.

Reducing wages does not enable owners to lay off workers, so this answer is wrong.

If the galaxy were sbrunk to the size of a football field, how far apart would the sun and its nearest neighboring stars be?
oksian1 [2.3K]

Question: If the galaxy were shrunk to the size of a football field

how far apart would the sun and its nearest neighboring stars be

choices

less than a human hair

a few centimeters

a few millimeters

about a meter

Answer:

The sun and its neighboring stars would be "a few millimeters" distance away when the galaxy is shrunk to the size of a football field

Explanation:

Very very long back the earth was the closest star other than sun. The distance is very higher in real, if in case the galaxy will shrink to the football size all other components will simultaneously decrease hence the distance factor of all the elements present in the galaxy will also decrease with the shrinkage, may be the closer one will get attached to it can the farther one will come very close to the sun.

What made segregation illegal?
sammy [17]

Answer:

I think it was because racism was taken very seriously back in the day, people in the late 20th century 21st century are just now realizing that it's very rude and embarrassing, for example, being Hispanic or african american was taken as a threat, so if you one of those races/nationalities you were considering colored and like I said a threat so white people would ask you to move or leave the area you were in. but anyways back to the point, how segregation is now illegal.

Explanation:

i think since Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa parks made their statements by showing racism should not be aloud and Barack Obama being president has really affected the way whites treat African Americans and Hispanics, but I don't completely know so don't think everything I said was true, at least we have the internet.
