To begin we'll establish that there were three Punic wars between Rome and Carthage. The first one was because Rome wanted control of <span>Magna Graecia. The second resulted in a Roman victory but not before Hannibal conquered  Roman territory. When the third war took place Rome had more power than Carthage, but it was still a threat to Rome. Rome won the final war as well.</span>
