<span>CorrectThe direction of the electric field stays the same regardless of the sign of the charges that are free to move in theconductor.Mathematically, you can see that this must be true since the expression you derived for the electric field isindependent of .Physically, this is because the force due to the magnetic field changes sign as well and causes positive charges tomove in the direction (as opposed to pushing negative charges in the direction). Therefore the result isalways the same: positive charges on the side and negative charges on the side. Because the electric fieldgoes from positive to negative charges will always point in the direction (given the original directions of</span>

Why did China get involved in the Korean War? a The United States asked them get involved to prevent World War 3. b The USSR ask
olganol [36]

Answer:

The right answer is:

c. The Americans had advanced as far as the China-Korea border and the Chinese were worried about the security of their borders and a possible invasion.

Explanation:

The direct motive of the Chinese entering the Korean War (1950-53) to support their North-Korean communist brethren was fear of a US invasion. After getting the communist withdrawal from Seoul and pushing them far north, the US forces approached the Chinese border. The route they were following was similar to that followed by the Japanese when they invaded Manchuria. That was a very fresh memory for China that had just emerged from two decades of war, including 8 years of bitter fighting with the Japanese. For them, it was preferable to fight in foreign territory than in their own territory. Neither Kim Il-sung, the North Korean leader, nor Soviet leader Joseph Stalin had expected the strong American reaction to the northern invasion of the South. For China, getting involved was also an act of communist solidarity, but the main motive was a deep concern about security.

How did ida Tarbell work to shed light on economic inequality?
arlik [135]

Ida Tarbell (1857 – 1944) pertained to the generation of journalists called muckrackers, who investigated and denounced corruption and unethical practices perpetrated by businesses and government officials during the Progressive Era (late 19th century and early 20th century) in the US.

She published <em>"The History of the Standard Oil Company</em>"  in 1904 through which she set a precedent, and many others subsequently started to gather information and to denounce the abuses committed by companies with absolute market power (monopolies) or by trusts operating in olipolistic markets. The Sherman Antitrust Act had been recently passed in 1890 but firms had been able to freely limit competitiveness during the whole 19th century. Tarbell denounced the manner in which certain corporations gathered enormous fortunes by using anti-competitive practices, possible due to their dominant position in the markets, and also impeding others to participate on the profits of the industry.

Such monopolistic practices enlarged the inequality within the industry and also in the whole society where large fortunes started to appear while most people were humble factory workers who earned very modest salaries.
